How does a shootathon work?

The event is broken down into different fun events for all. Students are to find people to pledge an amount of money per shot made within a 3 minute period from a designated foul line. Sponsors may also choose to make a fixed donations instead.

The team bat-a-thon, is held usually after a practice or game. During this time, each player has the opportunity to make three hits (from easy pitches). The team coordinator measures the distance of each hit, recording only the longest distance.
