Abstracts should be no more than 1,950 characters; not including title, authors, and spaces. Figures, tables submitted as images, title, and authors do not count against the 1,950-character limit. Use simple fonts.
Abstracts are viewable in the IDWeek Interactive Program (coming soon). Visit the Abstract Page for release dates. Abstracts will also be published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases in late 2024. Through OFID, the abstract text and images are available to all, not just IDWeek attendees.
Late breaking abstracts should present data that are high impact, ground breaking, innovative, and newsworthy. Only a very small number of Late Breaking Abstracts are accepted to IDWeek. Submission Due Date: August 16, 2023 11:59 p.m. ET.
Each IDWeek participating society will choose one outstanding abstract from a member trainee in their specialty. These abstracts will be recognized as the top submissions from trainees and the presenting author will receive an award in the amount of $1,250 (in lieu of $1,000).
IDWeek is the joint annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP).
