The IFTA Report (Fuel Energy IFTA Mileage) displays mileage information that pertains to the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) by Jurisdiction or Vehicle. The report includes both regulated and unregulated vehicles. You can view the total miles for all jurisdictions in the Jurisdictions tab.
Information Required for IFTA Reporting IFTA details - Country, base jurisdiction, and the IFTA Account Number need to be submitted. Vehicle Data - Details about the vehicle, such as the truck/unit number, gross vehicle type, fleet name, fleet number, make, and model may need to be provided.
The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is an arrangement among U.S. states and Canadian provinces. Taxes are paid on motor fuels, and IFTA allows commercial motor carriers to register in one state and have these tax assessments paid out to all participating areas ing to their fair share.
Do local trucks need IFTA? Local trucks operating exclusively within a single jurisdiction typically do not need to file IFTA. IFTA is primarily for commercial vehicles that travel across multiple jurisdictions, such as interstate or international carriers.
In order to file quarterly IFTA taxes, a trucker must register for an account with their base jurisdiction. This will require submitting an application form, along with providing documents such as qualified motor vehicle registration certificates, business names, etc.
