4-H is a youth development program where adult volunteers provide positive, hands-on, fun and educational opportunities with youth age 5 to 19. This can take place in many different settings such as project clubs, community clubs, after school programs, camps, workshop or events.
4-H clubs are open to all young people who are residents of Kansas and between the ages of 7 and 19. Learn more about clubs in your area. The 4-H calendar year begins October 1 and concludes on September 30th. Youth who turn 7 before January 1 of the current 4-H year may enroll.
4‑H programs are available for youth and teens ages 8-18. 4‑H Cloverbud programs are available for youth ages 5-7.
BEEF STEERS 4-H youth must be a full member (age 8 as of January 1st of the current year or older) to participate in the 4-H Market Beef Programs. Youth participants raise a feeder steer for approximately 6-9 months and then show the animal at the Tioga County Fair.
