Employers Report of Injury or Occupational Disease (Form 7) If a person working for you has a work-related injury or disease and gets medical treatment from a doctor or other qualified practitioner, as the employer, you must report the incident to us. We need to hear from you as soon as possible.
There are a few exceptions. Types of businesses that are not legally required to register with the WSIB include banks, insurance companies, barbers or hair salons (with exceptions), private schools or daycares, travel agencies, and several others.
However, if an employer fails to report an injury, the employee may not be eligible to collect these workers comp benefits. This can lead to docHub delays or even denials of workers compensation claims, impacting the injured workers ability to receive necessary medical care and financial support.
The business must complete and submit a Form 7 if the employee needs health care. The business should make every reasonable effort possible to obtain this information. If its not possible to get this information, please provide an explanation of whats being done to get it.

Report your employees injury/illness through our online services. The WSIB must receive the complete accident report within three business days after the business learns of the reporting obligation (business days are Monday to Friday, and do not include statutory holidays).
Did you know that WSIB coverage isnt mandatory for every business in Ontario? The Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA) outlines which industries need to have coverage and which industries dont. Businesses that do need to have WSIB coverage pay premiums in exchange for workplace insurance.
