A MN permit to Purchase is valid for 1 year.
Under Minnesota law, you must obtain a permit to carry a handgun in public. The law does not require that you conceal the weapon. If you have a Permit to Carry you dont need to obtain a Permit to Purchase to obtain a firearm.
