7. Add up all amounts from lines 1 through 8 in Column D and enter this total on line 9.
8. Compare line 9 with $1,000 (line 10) and enter the smaller amount on line 11.
9. Refer to line 8 of your Indiana tax return (Form IT-40 or IT-40PNR) and enter that amount on line 12.
10. Finally, determine the smaller amount between lines 11 and 12 for line 13, which represents your allowable credit.
