Which card am I eligible for? We have two cards available for seniors who are 60 or over and are NSW permanent residents. Seniors Card: Averaging 20 HOURS OR LESS of paid work a week across a 12-month period. This card entitles you to a Gold Opal card with transport concessions Australia Wide.
Both types of cards enable seniors to access the benefits on offer from participating businesses, such as discounts, special offers and competitions. However, NSW Senior Savers Card holders are not eligible for a Gold Opal Card, and so therefore cannot access discounted public transport.
To apply for a NSW Seniors Card and any replacement, visit the NSW Seniors Card website or call 13 77 88 and your application will be processed over the phone. NSW Seniors Cards are issued by the Department of Family and Community Services. Seniors Cards are issued free of charge and have no expiry.
