NATURE OF WORK The Maintenance Worker - Stormwater Wastewater is expected to engage in the maintenance and repair of stormwater and wastewater activities such as storm drain, wastewater, and stormwater stations and pumps cleanings.
Municipal Stormwater Inspectors implement and manage their municipalitys SWMP as well as inspect construction sites, industrial sites, and by municipal ordinance, all commercial activity in their jurisdiction.
Effective stormwater management reduces the amount of runoff and runoff pollution by slowing runoff and allow- ing it to soak in.
Your training consists of a variety of courses that teach you the skills necessary to inspect stormwater facilities and ensure regulatory compliance. Obtaining an industrial permit may also be part of your training. After graduating, you take a CSI exam that certifies you for five years.
