What is the fera program?

The Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) program helps eligible customers pay their energy bill. Income-qualified customers get an 18% monthly discount on electric rates. Participants must be a household with three or more people.

Whats the difference between fera and care?

CARE has lower income guidelines than FERA. If you submit an application for CARE and dont qualify under the income guidelines, we automatically evaluate you for FERA. The CARE Program offers a 35 percent discount (approximately) for electric rates and a 20 percent discount for gas rates.

How do I renew my PGE care program?

PGE sends a renewal application three months before the discount expires. Your organization can reapply for the CARE program if it still qualifies under the current CARE program eligibility program. To request an application by mail, email CAREandFERA@pge.com.

How much is the care discount sdge?

California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Low-income customers that are enrolled in the CARE program receive a 30-35 percent discount on their electric bill and a 20 percent discount on their natural gas bill.
