How do you score a dive sheet?
Individual events are scored by a panel of seven judges who recommend a score between 0 (completely failed) to 10 (excellent). The top two scores and the bottom two scores are discarded; the remaining three scores are added together and multiplied by the dives difficulty rating, known as the degree of difficulty.
Why did diving scores cross out?
The highest two scores and the lowest two scores for each dive are then removed to ensure only the most even judgments are considered and eradicate the possibility of the judges influencing the points one way or the other.
Are diving scores out of 10?
At the Olympics, all dives are scored by a panel of judges. The judges rate the execution (and synchronization, for synchro events) of every dive on a scale of 1-10, including half-point margins.
What are good diving scores?
Each judge scores a dive between zero and 10 points, in half-point increments. Scores are defined as follows: 10: Excellent. 8-9: Very good. 7-8: Good. 5-6: Satisfactory. 2-4: Deficient. -2: Unsatisfactory. 0: Completely failed.
What is an 11 dive meet?
High School Diving Competition Divers are required to perform one voluntary dive and five optional dives for a total of six dives for each meet. For championship meets, each diver must complete 11 dives which must include all dive categories.
