  1. Click ‘Get Form’ to open the co ullage log in the editor.
  2. Begin by entering the Facility Name and Facility ID # (if known) in the designated fields. This information identifies your location and ensures accurate record-keeping.
  3. Fill in the Street Address, City, and ZIP code of your facility. Accurate address details are crucial for compliance and communication.
  4. Indicate the Product in Tank and Tank Capacity (in gallons). This helps track what is stored and its maximum capacity.
  5. Record the Start Date and End Date for your ullage calculations. These dates help maintain a timeline of operations.
  6. Calculate the 90% Capacity based on your tank's total capacity. For example, if your tank holds 1,000 gallons, enter 900 gallons as 90% capacity.
  7. Measure the liquid level in feet/inches before filling begins. Use a tank chart to convert this measurement into gallons, then calculate ullage by subtracting from the 90% capacity.
  8. Document each delivery date along with gauge readings, conversions to gallons, ullage calculations, quantity added, and initials for accountability.

ullage Volume Versus 90% ullage. Ullage is the amount of empty space left in the tank. For example, if you have an 8,000-gallon tank with 5,000 gallons of fuel in it, then the ullage volume is 3,000 gallons. Ninety percent ullage is the ullage minus 10% of the tank capacity.
To calculate the ullage prior to any filling activity, directly measure the liquid level in feet/inches and convert the measurement to gallons using the correct tank chart. Subtract the converted gallons from the 90% capacity to calculate the ullage/available capacity (e.g. 900- 300= 600).
