Those who want to take the UPCAT should belong to any of the following: Senior students (Fourth Year, Grade 12, Senior 6) of DepEd accredited schools or secondary schools abroad expecting to graduate at the end of the school year. Graduates of DepEd accredited schools or secondary schools abroad.
Traditionally, prospective UP students are screened through the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT). It is held once a year in the different constituent units of the University, as well as in select examination centers all over the country. The applications are filed prior to the date of the examinations.
But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UP hasnt been able to conduct the UPCAT for two consecutive years. In lieu of the entrance exam, the university has been using an admission scoring model where a students admission to the university is dependent on their high school grades. This model is now called UPCA.
To be considered eligible for the UPCAT, an applicant should be any of the following: A 12th-grade student of a secondary school that is accredited by the Department of Education; A graduate of any secondary school that is accredited by the Department of Education, or of any secondary school abroad; or.
