In most cases, you must participate in employment-related activities to receive financial help. You could receive up to $733 a month for basic needs and shelter if you are single. You may receive more than this for: benefits (for example, you might get additional money for transportation to medical appointments)
The Housing Stabilization Fund (HSF) is intended to prevent homelessness by meeting the emergency housing needs of Toronto residents who receive financial assistance from Ontario Works (OW) and income support from Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) so that they are able to stabilize their housing situation.
Housing Stability Benefit ODSP and OW recipients can receive help with last months rent, rent arrears, appliances, moving costs, and mattresses for adults, bed for children, utility arrears and bed bug preparation and prevention. People with low income can receive help with utility and rent arrears.
