The detention may be for no more than 72 hours. In that time, a different physician must assess the condition of the patient. Any patient detained involuntarily is entitled to a hearing before the provinces Consent and Capacity Board. The patient has a right to retain counsel.
The Form is valid for 7 days and allows the police to take the person to a hospital for assessment. What is the difference between a Form 1 and Form 2? Unlike a Form 1, a Form 2 does not allow someone to be detained for 72 hours. It only allows for the person to be brought to the hospital for assessment.
Each member shall make in his declaration in Form 2, a nomination conferring the right to receive the amount that may stand to his credit in the Fund in the event of his death before the amount standing to his credit has become payable, or where the amount has become payable before payment has been made.
