WorkSafeBC accepts our Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED C (Blended) course equivalent to WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1). This is our most versatile course package which includes basic first aid skills in addition to CPR and choking procedures on adult, children, and infants.
Here are the unique differences between the Level 3 First Aid at Work course and the level 2 EFAW work qualification course: First aid at Work training lasts three days, while EFAW only lasts one day. The FAW course covers more in-depth treatment issues and deals with higher-risk situations.
Emergency First Aid courses involve learning how to prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies, choking, breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission. Standard First Aid on the other hand is more intensive and is designed for people who need first aid training for work, or at home.
The online certificate is recognized and approved by OHS and the training is available to Canadians everywhere.
Workplaces must have at least one person on site at all times who has a valid first aid certificate (ing to the number of people working per shift).
