Officer Ranks Second Lieutenant. Typically the entry-level rank for most commissioned officers. First Lieutenant. A seasoned lieutenant with 18 to 24 months of service. Captain. Major. Lieutenant Colonel. Colonel. Brigadier General. Major General.
All promotions are based on completion of ET program levels until lieutenant colonel. The CAP grades of colonel, brigadier general, and major general are reserved for wing and region commanders, National Vice Commander, and National Commander respectively.
