It feels like half of UMBC is pre-meds. There is soooo many resources for it. As a non pre-med bio major its actually a tiny bit annoying how they try to include medical stuff in every class. But my pre-med friends have done pretty good with the support on campus, especially the ones in the pre-med co-ed fraternity.
Majors at UMBC To declare your major (or to change your major), you must fill out a Declaration of Major form, available in the Office for Academic Pre-Professional Advising, the Registrars Office, or online here. Completed forms may be turned in to either office.
UMBC Biology Rankings This puts the bachelors program at the school solidly in the top 15% of all colleges and universities in the country.
To find out who your advisor is, look at myUMBC, under Advising and Student Support, the My Advisors link. If no one is listed at that link and you are an IS or BTA student, contact Dina Glazer, dgorin1@umbc.edu. If youre not an IS or BTA major, please contact your respective department to get an advisor assigned.
Besides the Ivy Leagues, schools like Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Michigan, and University of Wisconsin - Madison are excellent choices for a biology major.
