The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Incident Severity Scale (ISS) is a research-based tool that meets the goal of providing an objective, consistent and standardized means to determine the severity of met criteria for child abuse/neglect and domestic abuse incidents by FAP clinicians across all the Services.
Upon receiving a report of child abuse or neglect, FAP will notify the non-abusing parents or caregivers and work with the family to ensure the childs safety. FAP will continue to provide emotional support and other services, as requested, throughout the duration of the case.
The FAP provides a variety of interventions and treatment services to meet the needs of individuals and families. It provides counseling, clinical case management, treatment groups, and refers families to military and civilian resources as appropriate.
