Registered agency affiliated counselor (RAAC) means a person registered under chapter 18.19 who is engaged in counseling to the extent authorized under (section 18). This includes juvenile probation counselors who are employees of the juvenile court under RCW 13.04.
Applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in mental health counseling or a behavioral science masters or doctoral degree in a field relating to mental health counseling. The department must receive an official transcript with degree and date posted from applicants program.
Fulfill the supervised experience requirement. You need 36 months of full-time counseling experience or 3,000 hours of supervised post-graduate mental health counseling experience. 1,200 of the 3,000 hours must be in direct counseling, and 100 must be conducted under immediate supervision.
Certified AAC: This credential requires a bachelors degree in counseling or the social sciences and five years of supervised experience. Licensed AAC: This credential requires a masters degree or higher in counseling or the social sciences and two years of supervised experience.
