Section 371 - Referees License (a) In order to be licensed as a referee, an applicant shall meet all the following requirements: (1) Have demonstrated prior experience in refereeing and judging boxing matches and perform in a series of training sessions as a referee to successfully demonstrate proficiency.
No person shall engage in the promotion of, or participate in, a boxing or martial arts contest, match, or exhibition without a license, and except in ance with this chapter and the rules adopted hereunder. 18640.5.
Be at least 18 years old. Complete a course of training, approved by the Commission, which encompasses the elements of officiating in a boxing, kickboxing or MMA contest. Achieve a score of at least 70% on an examination administered by the Commission. Successfully complete annual physical and ophthalmological exams.
