The airport issues four types of badges: Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge. For unescorted access to the secured side of the airport, including ramps and Air Operations Area (AOA). Sterile badge. Public badge. Security Credential.
All ID badges are color coded to visually identify persons authorized to enter controlled access areas. PURPLE - Badge holders have access only to or in the Sterile Area. GREEN - Badge holders have access to and in the Secured Area, Sterile Area and AOA.
In accordance with the Airport Security Plan and TSA regulations, all individuals who require regular and routine access to the Airport Operations Area (AOA) must apply for and obtain an Airport ID Badge. The information provided in the application is submitted to the Transportation Security Clearinghouse (TSC).
Does my child need identification? Children ages 2 to 17 traveling domestically do not need identification. Everyone who flies to locations outside the United States, regardless of age, is required to have a passport.
The Airport AOA badge is primarily used to identify an individual who has been authorized by the Airport to access the AOA. Card access is determined by the Airport Manager, or his or her designee, and is dependent upon the badge holders operational needs.
