Home Purchase Assistance If you are purchasing an existing single-family home (or condominium/townhouse) anywhere in Lee County you may qualify for assistance. The maximum purchase price is $340,000, and the maximum amount of assistance will be 10% of the purchase price (not to exceed $34,000).
Florida Homeownership Loan Program (FL HLP) This program gives buyers up to $10,000 in assistance as a second mortgage at 3 percent interest. The mortgage must be paid off over 15 years unless you move, refinance, sell or transfer ownership of the property. In those cases, the balance must be paid in full.
Florida Housing administers the State Housing Initiatives Partnership program (SHIP) which provides funds to local governments as an incentive to create partnerships that produce and preserve affordable homeownership and multifamily housing. The program was designed to serve very low, low and moderate income families.
Under this program, eligible buyers can receive 5% of their total mortgage loan amount, up to a maximum of $35,000, for down payment and/or closing costs. The assistance is provided as a deferred second mortgage with 0% interest.
