A powder-actuated tool (PAT, often generically called a Hilti gun or a Ramset gun after their manufacturing companies) is a type of nail gun used in construction and manufacturing to join materials to hard substrates such as steel and concrete.

Do I need a license to buy a Ramset?

To assure safety on the jobsite, OSHA and ANSI require that all powder actuated tool users become trained and certified for the particular tool being used. For your convenience, Ramset provides a training course that allows you to easily obtain the required license.

Do you have to be certified to use a Ramset gun?

In order to operate a powder tool you must be trained and certified by the manufacturer for the particular tool you are operating. When using Ramset tools, you can become certified by following our online training and certification course or contacting your local Ramset distributor.

How would a person get certified for a powder actuated tool?

GET YOUR PAT LICENSE The course consists of usage, safety and troubleshooting material. At the end of this course, you will take the online exam. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, you will receive your license to print and save.
