What is the TCCC card?

The DD Form 1380, TCCC Card is the standardized method for documentation of casualty care in the prehospital environment for battle and non-battle injuries. The DD Form 1380 promotes Department of Defense goals of capturing documentation of pre-hospital medical interventions at the point of injury.

Where to get TCCC training?

NAEMT conducts TCCC courses as specified by the DHA-JTS. NAEMT currently offers three types of TCCC courses. TCCC-ASM (TCCC All Service Members Tier 1) is a 7-hour course for all service members.

Can a civilian take a TCCC course?

Find TCCC TECC Courses Tactical Combat Casualty courses (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) are trainings designed to teach you how to save lives after a casualty event such as a shooting. TCCC courses are developed for military and medical personnel while TECC courses are aimed at a civilian audience.

Who can teach TCCC?

At a minimum, all TCCC trainers or instructors will be certified in TCCC and complete the appropriate JTS-developed train the trainer course every three years. The Military Departments may establish additional training requirements for TCCC trainers or instructors.

A casualty card is essentially a record of what has happened and when, to whom. Further, it is a record of how the vital signs (pulse, breathing rate, colour, temperature and alertness) are changing with time.

Can you take TCCC as a civilian?

Courses in TCCC are still being offered and taught to civilians mainly because the infrastructure exists to do so; and these students are likely going back and changing what they learned to civilian appropriate for their agencies and application.
