Division I Academic Standards To be eligible to practice, compete and receive an athletics scholarship in your first year of full-time enrollment, you must meet the following requirements: Earn 16 NCAA-approved core-course credits in the following areas: Four years of English. Three years of math (Algebra 1 or higher).
Division 1 The NCAA allows student athlete recruits to make five official visits to Division I schools, with only one visit per school. Division 2 Official recruiting visits for Division 2 schools are also limited to five visits with only one visit per school.
Students must register online at the NCAA Eligibility Center. They will have to enter personal information, answer questions about their coursework and sports participation outside of high school, and pay a registration fee.
Complete the amateurism questionnaire. Have a valid method of payment ($100 for athletes from the U.S. (including its territories) or Canada and $160 for international athletes). Valid forms of payment include debit, credit card or e-check.
To play at the Division I level, a student must: 2. Complete the 16 NCAA-approved core courses in 8 academic semesters for 4 consecutive academic years from the start of the 9th grade. 3. Hold at least a 2.3 GPA and achieve an ACT/SAT score that corresponds to his GPA.
