When colleges send you an offer of admission, you pay an enrollment deposit to hold your spot. This deposit goes toward your tuition for the first year. Depending on the school, you may also need to pay a housing deposit to reserve on-campus housing.
A deposit payment is the last step after you have received an unconditional offer letter and wish to enrol into an institution. For some competitive/quota courses, this will secure your spot in the course. The deposit usually includes tuition fees payment for 1 semester and additional (if packaged courses).
Enrollment deposits are not refundable usually. Check the terms, perhaps you can make a case for an exception if you explain your circumstances. You do want to make sure you are conveying in writing and/or through the portal that you are withdrawing so you dont end up on the hook for any further expenses.
Your Tuition Deposit of $1,000.00 CAD is due no later than 30 days prior to the program start date.
Incoming students can generally expect to spend $100-$300 on their enrollment deposit, though some schools charge as much as $1,000. Most colleges also make the deposit nonrefundable, meaning if you decide not to attend, you forfeit the deposit.
