The Yachtmaster Ocean is the highest qualification awarded by the RYA. Recognised worldwide, the Yachtmaster Ocean certificate proves you have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to skipper a yacht across an ocean.
If youve got the option to do either, assuming instructors of equal competence, then RYA is a much better choice. The courses are more thorough and RYA is the international gold standard. If you ever choose to pursue crewing professionally youll be much better served (and maybe require to have) RYA credentials.
