What does major declaration mean?

With an undecided major, you may not have the same access to all courses. Certain seats in high-enrollment classes, especially core requirements for a major, may be reserved for students who have declared. This helps ensure the students who need those classes to graduate can take the course in time.

How do you declare your major cuny?

When a student declares a major he/she is indicating which major he/she would like to pursue.

Can you change a declared major?

You may also change your major multiple times to different majors. For example, if you are declared Political Science and change to Legal Studies, you could then apply to change your major to Global Studies.
