New Vehicle Information Statement (NVIS) is a form issued to new vehicles that have never been licensed or used. Example: vehicles that are coming directly from a dealer. The NVIS must accompany the vehicle for import into Canada and also for licensing.
The VIN can often be found on the lower-left corner of the dashboard, in front of the steering wheel. You can read the number by looking through the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle. The VIN may also appear in a number of other locations: Front of the engine block.
You can request the VIR online or through a registry agent. You will need the vehicle identification number, or VIN, for the vehicle you want to search. A MyAlberta Digital ID is required for online orders.
