From 1 July 2020, you can apply to have a Qualified Supervisor Certificate issued for 1, 3 or 5 years. An endorsed contractor licence is issued to individuals who apply for a contractor licence and who also have the qualifications and experience needed to be a qualified supervisor.
In NSW, the Department of Fair Trading oversees waterproofing licencing. Waterproofers need a licence to perform any residential waterproofing, including strata, valued at more than $5000 in labour and materials.

Since 1996, waterproofing of wet areas has been governed by the relevant Australian Standard AS:3740 (Waterproofing of Wet Areas). During construction any work to wet seal an area must be done by a QBCC licensed contractor (Waterproofer).
