A fillable DA 3595-R Form is used by the US Army as documentation of a soldiers ability to fire a weapon. this form is also known as a Record Fire Scorecard. The form allows for recording the soldiers ability to shoot different types of firearms, firing positions, as well as ranges.
Before starting Sniper School, you will need to have established a distinguished record as an infantryman. To enter the Infantry, you must have a combat (CO) Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) score of at least 87.
The following qualification standards are shown in Block 16 (RATING SCALE) on the scorecard: Expert-26 to 30 hits. Sharpshooter-21 to 25 hits. Marksman-16 to 20 hits. Unqualified-a to 15 hits.
First, your Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score determines your eligibility to join and requires a score of at least 31 to enlist.
For annual qualification with the service rifle, scores range from 305 to 350 for expert, 280304 for sharpshooter, and 250279 for marksman. For annual qualification with the service pistol, the scores range from 364 to 400 for expert, 324363 for sharpshooter, and 264323 for marksman.
