If you go to the document properties of a PDF file (control or command d), if the proper metadata is available, it will list the creation date and time and modified date and time. This can help you determine if a pdf file has been modified since creation. However, it is not foolproof. This metadata is not secured.
1 Answer. Yes, EXIF data may be saved, depending on how your PDF tools work. As an example, you can take a JPEG with EXIF data, put it into LibreOffice Writer, then save that document as a PDF with Lossless Compression enabled and Reduce Image DPI disabled.
To display XMP metadata in a PDF editor: Press Ctrl D on your keyboard and select the Description tab Additional Metadata button Advanced (in the left field). See Image 1.
Printing documents to PDF format removes revision metadata but it does not remove file description metadata. PDF files retain some basic file description metadata, such as author, file name, and date, which can be minimized if the proper conversion settings are used (see page 31).

The data available includes file name, file size, title, author, subject, keywords, created date, modified date, the PDF producer, the PDF version, the page count, and the page size.
