Simply copy your project to a different directory. In Solution Explorer, right-click the project, select Rename, and enter a new name. In Solution Explorer, right-click the project and select Properties. On the Application tab, change the Assembly name and Default namespace.
ASP files can be edited using standard text editing software that supports Active Server Pages syntax, such as Sublime Text or Atom.
A file with the ASPX file extension is an Active Server Page Extended file thats designed for Microsofts ASP.NET framework. Its also called a . NET web form. Although they look fairly similar, ASPX files arent the same as Web Handler files that end in ASHX.
Renaming the Solution: Close the Solution in Visual Studio. Before making changes, ensure that the solution is closed in Visual Studio. Rename in File Explorer. Navigate to your solution directory. Locate the `. sln` file and rename it to your desired name. Reopen in Visual Studio.
In Solution Explorer, right-click the project, select Rename, and enter a new name. In Solution Explorer, right-click the project and select Properties. On the Application tab, change the Assembly name and Default namespace. Change the AssemblyTitle and AssemblyProduct in Properties/AssemblyInfo.
Microsofts Visual Studio is one free program you can use to open and edit these files. Another tool, although not free, is the popular docHub Dreamweaver. Sometimes, an ASPX file can be viewed, and its contents edited, with one of these free text file editors. Many URLs end in default.

Connect to your site and go to site pages and open the aspx page. Download the page from SharePoint. Edit it locally. Upload it again in same library as major Version.
