At Marla, we specialize in family law, which can have lasting implications since a divorce typically lasts nine to twelve months, while child-rearing responsibilities last at least 18 years. Court orders often need modifications to better meet the evolving needs of the parties and children involved. This can include changes to child support, parenting time arrangements, or specific aspects of the parenting plan. To initiate a modification, one must file a petition, but modifications cannot be requested every three months without a significant change affecting the parties. However, exceptions exist for emergency situations where urgent changes may be required.
