Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can convert a PDF file to an Excel spreadsheet. PDF is by far one of the most popular file types and you might have some data hidden away in a PDF that youd like to analyze in Microsoft Excel. Unfortunately, its not incredibly intuitive for how you could take data from a PDF and bring it into Microsoft Excel. It turns out its pretty easy to do, and Im going to show you step-by-step how you can get your data out of a PDF into an Excel file. All right, well why dont we jump on the PC and get started here? Here I am on my PC, and I have a PDF file sitting on my desktop and Id like to bring the data into Excel to analyze it. Lets take a quick look at whats in the PDF. I have the PDF file open and its a fairly typical PDF. I have an image at the top. I have some text below it, and then heres the portion of the PDF that I want to bring into Excel. Its a table with some sales data for the Kevin Cookie

Open a PDF file containing a scanned image in Acrobat for Mac or PC. Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane. Acrobat automatically applies optical character recognition (OCR) to your document and converts it to a fully editable copy of your PDF. Click the text element you wish to edit and start typing.
TurboTax makes transferring data hassle-free and with no retyping required. It saves you time and reduces errors. We can even transfer information from other tax software or tax preparers. All you need is a PDF or a tax data file.
Convert PDFs Open the PDF in Acrobat and select Convert from the top tools bar. Select a desired file format (such as Microsoft Word) and then select Convert to (file format you select). To configure the conversion settings, select and then modify the settings as required.

You can usually click on File and then on Export to export tax information to create a TXF data file from your financial software. Another, far simpler option is to double-click on the file and let the associated program take it from there.
A PDF file must first be converted into a CSV file before it can be converted into a TXF file.
How to Use the Convert PDF to TAX Feature Login to your account. Once logged in, click on My Forms at the top of the page to access your saved PDF documents. Select the PDF file you want to convert to TAX format by clicking on it.
