The Presidential Fitness Test is the standard for this scholarship. Candidates will perform one minute of push-ups, one minute of curl-ups, and a one-mile run. The test can be conducted by a variety of individuals but is usually done by a physical education teacher.
Your score is based on the point where you can no longer keep up. Why test your running? The run measures your aerobic capacity. Aerobic fitness is essential for all military tasks and important for injury prevention.
The score for each event ranges from 0 to 100 points; a minimum score of 60 in each event is required to pass the test. The soldiers overall score is the sum of the points from the three events. If a soldier passes all three events, the total may range from 180 to 300.
500+ for anything combat arms is a good standard with a goal of being consistently 550+. Edit: Both of which are easily attainable through morning PT and working out on your own somewhat regularly
A minimum score of 75 is required to pass the PFA. In addition to the PFA, cadets must meet Body Mass Index (BMI) standards to docHub major program milestones and remain eligible for progression within AFROTC.
