While PT can be difficult, it is also a great opportunity to have fun during ROTC. Team sports like basketball, ultimate disc, and dodgeball are always enjoyable ways to bond with and compete against your fellow cadets.
The ACFT comprises six events: the three-repetition deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank, and a two-mile run. Each event is designed to mimic specific combat tasks, such as the sprint-drag-carry, which simulates pulling a battle buddy out of a danger zone.
The first physical requirement that Cadets completed was the ACFT, which measured their physical fitness. The ACFT consists of six events: the three-repetition max deadlift, the standing power throw, hand-release pushups, sprint-drag-carry, plank and two-mile run.
Soldiers without a passing ACFT are authorized to extend only up to 12 months, allowing an opportunity to pass a record ACFT.
The physical fitness assessment will be taken once every semester by every cadet for a score. You need to pass each individual event as well as get an overall score above 75, but to be competitive you should strive to get about a 90 or above!
