If you wish to cancel before your rental pick-up time, you must cancel and request a refund online. Once cancelled, we will credit you within approximately seven business days. Credits will be applied to the same card with which you prepaid.
Why did Avis charge me an extra $200?
Many rentals may require an authorization hold of the estimated rental charges plus $200 USD. Rentals of 4 days or more may require an authorization hold of the estimated rental charges plus $300 USD. If you have prepaid with a debit card, the hold will be $250 USD. Some exceptions may apply.
How much deposit do Avis charge?
Your card will be charged the amount of the rental plus a $250 minimum hold for credit and debit cards at the time of rental. When you return your vehicle Avis will release the unused portion of the hold. The funds may take up to two weeks to be released by your bank.
How to get an Avis invoice?
If you search by Customer number (Wizard number) you will be able to retrieve the latest version of the invoice for your most recent rental with Avis. If you search by Rental Agreement number, you will be able to retrieve invoices for rentals completed in the past six months.
Does Avis charge extra fees?
Extra Day Charge If a daily rental is not returned within 24 hours, an hourly fee will be charged in addition to the original daily charge. For rental cars returned more than two hours late, renters will be charged for an extra day. For specifics, speak with your Avis counter representative.
