he Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is a federally recognized Native American nation consisting of approximately 15,000 enrolled members. Most of these members reside in the Qualla Boundary, a Tribal land spanning five counties in western North Carolina.
Qualla Boundary encompasses untouched mountains, rivers, and forests and is located next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has a total of 14,000 tribal members.
The Aniwaya, or Wolf Clan, has been known throughout time to be the largest clan. During the time of the Peace Chief and War Chief government setting, the War Chief would come from this clan. Wolves are known as protectors.
