The Infraction Deferral Program (IDP) is a program that allows the state to defer moving traffic violations.
The Prosecuting Attorney established an Infraction Deferral Program in order to allow persons who have committed certain traffic violations to maintain a point free driving record.
Eligibility requirements for all participants: Only have one moving violation at this traffic stop. No other moving violations in the twelve (12) months preceding the traffic citation. No other deferrals in any other U.S. counties in the twelve (12) months preceding the traffic citation.
To fulfill the Safe Driver Deferral agreement, participants must pay a one-time fee and agree to not commit any further traffic violations within the next six months. If the deferral agreement is successfully completed, the ticket will be dismissed in six months and no points will appear on your driving record.
Deferral Program Process If you wish to enter the Deferral program, you will sign an Infraction Deferral Agreement and pay a fee of $192.50. You do this instead of paying the ticket (i.e. do not pay the ticket and then request the Deferral agreement). IN NO EVENT WILL ANY FEES PAID BE REFUNDED.
