Filing a Claim By accessing the TDI/TCI website at www.dlt.ri.gov/tdi, claimants may apply online or download an application to complete and mail to TDI, P.O. Box 20100, Cranston, RI 02920. They may also call (401) 462-8420 after 4pm ET and choose option 1. An application will be mailed to them.
You must apply for TCI benefits during the first 30 days after the first day of leave is taken for reasons of bonding or caregiving.
Most eligible customers receive their first payment within three weeks from the day TDI receives the application. Missing or wrong information may delay payment. Benefits are paid by direct deposit or electronic payment card.
How long can I collect TDI? The duration of your claim is equal to 36% of your total base period wages divided by your weekly benefit rate (not including dependent's allowance. The most you are allowed to collect is an amount equal to 30 full weeks.
