People also ask

A switch hold is a temporary block placed on an electric meter that prevents a customer from changing to a new retail electric provider (REP). The main goal of a switch hold is to ensure that customers pay off outstanding debts to their current REP before switching to a new one.
Electricity providers must follow strict timelines for removing switch-holds once youve met your obligations. Specifically, they must submit a request to lift the hold by noon of the next business day after you complete your payment plan or pay your outstanding balance.
