The Chinese Mandarin program is a 64-week intensive course while the Russian program is a 48-week intensive course. Both teach students to a high level of foreign language proficiency. Instructional methods are focused on a mixed methods approach.

A: To be able to study at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center you must be either in the armed services, already employed by the federal government or be working for a law enforcement agency.
