Special Examinations A Special Examination is any examination other than the regular examination, and it may be offered only with the permission of the Dean of the Faculty in which the student is registered, in consultation with the instructor and Department Chair.
(ii) Attended examinations, GR23(b): A student (UG or PG) who has not been able to complete the original final exam by reason of illness or any other reason deemed sufficient by Senate, may on application be granted permission to sit a special aegrotat exam during the next applicable supplementary exam session.
Students attaining 49% and below in the final examination get access to a supplementary examination. Marks are then capped at 50%.
A student with a final mark of 50% or more, but with an examination mark of less than 40% (fail sub-minimum) for theory modules/subjects or 50% (fail sub-minimum) for practical subjects shall qualify for a supplementary examination.
