What is Required to Nominate Someone? Nominators must submit a comprehensive nomination packet including a thoroughly completed Hall of Fame Nomination Form and three letters of support. If more than three letters are received, only the first three will be used.
Anyone can nominate someone for induction just by writing to the Hall of Fame. The Hall compiles this list of nominations along with previous nominees who received votes, plus newly eligible candidates with solid stats. It sends this list (along with updated versions) to the Selection Committee.
All appointments are open-ended and approved annually by a majority vote of the Hall of Fames Board of Directors. The Selection Committee meets annually shortly before the Super Bowl to elect new members of the Hall of Fame.
