PACE and PACENET offer comprehensive prescription coverage to older Pennsylvanians and cover most medications that require prescriptions, including insulin, syringes and insulin needles. These programs are administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery.
PACE cardholders who enroll in a non-partner plan must pay the plans full monthly premium. PACENET cardholders enrolled in a partner plan pay the Part D plans premium at the pharmacy when they have a prescription filled and never pay more than the cost of the medication.
Medicines that are covered: Insulin, insulin syringes and insulin needles are the only exceptions. Over-the-counter medications such as aspirin, antacid, vitamins, etc., and experimental drugs are not covered, even if prescribed.
