When was JSIF established?

The Government of Jamaica (GoJ) established the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) in 1996 as part of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NPEP). The JSIF was formed as the governments principal vehicle for channeling resources to small-scale community based projects.

What are the sources of funding in Jamaica?

Domestic sources of funding include the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, and the National Insurance Fund. Each lender stipulates its applicable terms and conditions, has its own reporting requirements and provides funds for specific purposes. The DBJ does not lend funds directly to individuals.

Who is the head of the JSIF Jamaica?

Wayne Henry, and the Managing Director of JSIF, Mr. Omar Sweeney, is an ex-officio member.

What is the purpose of JSIF?
