Alaska does not have a grace period after a license expires. Once your license is expired, it is not legal for you to drive. You can quickly renew your drivers license in person at Auto Tags Titles. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can call or email for an appointment.
You can either renew your license online, by mail or in person. For Commercial Driver License holders, there are additional requirements to renew your CDL.
MAILED: To request this office to mail you a copy(s) of a business license certificate, submit this form by fax or mail with the appropriate nonrefundable fee of $5 per copy. DO NOT email this form or payment. Online Filing is not available for this form; submit this form by fax or mail only.
Online renewal is available the first 9 months of a lapsed (expired) business license; after which you can only apply for renewal hardcopy (via in-person, fax, or U.S. Mail) by submitting Business License: RENEWAL Application (form 08-4617) along with the appropriate fees.
