Threshold questioning is questioning which occurs within the first 10 or 15 minutes on scene. It is an immediate fact finding process. Example First Responder may ask questions like what happened, was anyone injured, etc. All questions to the offender must stop when and if he/she is identified as suspect.
Passing thresholds, also referred to as assessment thresholds, are used to determine the minimum score students need to earn on the assessment in order to receive credit and move on in the course work.
The test threshold is the probability below which the diagnosis is so unlikely it is excluded without further testing (Figure 1-2).
A threshold concept can be considered as akin to a portal, opening up a new and previously inaccessible way of thinking about something. It represents a transformed way of understanding, or interpreting, or viewing something without which the learner cannot progress.
If a threshold is set, all scores in the Gradebook will be either 1 (meets threshold) or 0 (does not meet threshold). For example, if the assignment score scale is 0-3 and the threshold is set to 2, students will receive a 1 if their score is 2 or 3, and a 0 if their score is 0 or 1.
